Inward vs. Outward Worship

Did you know that you were created for His praise? The scriptures tell us in Ephesians 1:3 -14 and I Peter 2:9 that He chose us. God is glorified through us! If we truly are worshippers of Christ, it will reflect in every aspect of our lives. John MacArthur, Jr. has written a book called “The Ultimate Priority” that discusses biblical worship as “whole-life” worship. There should be three directions of our worship: Inward, Outward and Upward.

Inward worship is about our personal relationship with God. Our ultimate goal should be to please God at all times, even when we are alone and no one is looking. Outward worship is about our relationships with other people. God tells us to encourage and pray for one another. Upward worship is pointing all the focus to God, who is the “author and perfecter of our faith”. We have so many things to be thankful for. God always uses our circumstances to grow us and make us more like him, which in return brings Him the glory. Be blessed and know that God is for you. Fill your hearts with more of Him so you can become a better communicator of Worship!
